transition

Captdan here,
First blog entry ever!!!! Six weeks of hell, putting the condo on the market, many trips to goodwill, storage and the fifth wheel, did I say many????? Only fell down twice, the first in the driveway, one of those where you feel like you are wearing clown shoes and you could trip over an ant, unfortunately it was a driveway lip but by now I have learned to fall with aplomb!!!!! You can do that when you are 66, I've had a lot of practice, no frantic arm waving or hop-skip-jump, just fall, let it happen, be the fall, embrace it! The second time was a pisser!!! End of the day, tired, sore from the fall two days ago, pissed off more because it ( duh, Portland) was raining, on a stepladder next to the truck bed, pulling(duh), it came and I went!!! Now normally this one would would of hurt, up kinda high, falling straight back but I was saved!!!! I was next to the gutter and it being Portland (duh) it had four inches of running water in it!! I don't know what startled me more, the impact when I landed or the shock of ice cold water from ankles to neck!!!! I didn't tell j9 till we were almost home, a lot of laughter.

A new life

11-01-15

The journey begins:

We start our new life as Mr and Mrs Dan Sheridan.  Then he goes into the hospital for a full hip replacement and 8 weeks of rehab...  The 5th wheel is in the shop for some warranty work, the new floor is scheduled for the condo, and we wonder why we feel tired...But the plans are laid and the new year will be upon us soon.  That is the plan now.  We will list the condo and finish moving into the wheel, sell the rest of the furniture and by the end of the year we should be on the road

Introducing "The Lake House".

This is our new home, an 2016 Alpine 3900RE.  We decided a few years ago to try living on the road and after many hours spent wandering RV shows and prowling the internet at all hours of the day and night, we found our home.  We'll take you on a tour in the coming weeks, but for now just admire her sleek racing lines, and wave as you see us blasting down the interstate (okay make that slowly wandering the Highways and Byways).

Blogging is new to me and I will improve the look here as I learn, I should have the time now.  now that I have retired and the fixed house is on the market.....The Lake House currently sits in a nice RV Park just down the road apiece as we clear the last of the debris and prepare to move in.

The plan starts with a 2 week trek to California, about 600 miles, and we are going to take our time and wander down the coast of Oregon and Northern California.
